On September 26–27, 2026, in Ba Vi, Hanoi, CDC Construction organized the “CDC Leadership Program – Enhancing Project Management and Operational Capabilities”, with the participation of senior leaders, middle managers, and key personnel from project teams.

The program forms part of CDC Construction’s ongoing efforts to standardize its management system, strengthen project leadership capabilities, and improve consistency across site management teams. Its key objective is to ensure that managers have a clear understanding of the organizational structure, functions, duties, responsibilities, authority, and coordination mechanisms of each position within the Project Division.

The program was also attended by members of the Training Advisory Board, including Mr. Ngo Tan Long – Chairman of the Board of Directors; Ms. Dang Thanh Trang – Member of the Board of Directors and General Director; and Mr. Tran Van Truong – Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director, together with CDC Construction’s management team and key project personnel.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Ngo Tan Long – Chairman of the Board of Directors of CDC Construction emphasized the importance of continuing to standardize and enhance management quality across project site management teams. He highlighted that each position should have its own “textbook” – not only to define what needs to be done, but also to clarify responsibilities, authority, coordination methods, and the standards expected in project operations.

    • Mr. Phan Duc Giap – Head of Project Management Department
    • Mr. Ngo Vu Chien – Head of Budget & Contract Department A

As projects continue to grow in scale and complexity, stronger management and operational capabilities are becoming increasingly important. They are not only requirements for individual managers, but also key factors affecting coordination, control, and the overall effectiveness of the organization’s operating system.

Standardizing Roles, Responsibilities and the Operating Model

The first day of training focused on the organizational structure, operating model, and the functions, duties, responsibilities, and authority of each position within the Site Management Team, with sessions led by:

In addition to systematizing key management principles, the program placed strong emphasis on two-way discussion and practical case analysis. Questions, challenges, and real project experiences were brought into the sessions for review, discussion, and alignment, helping participants gain a clearer understanding of how different roles, processes, and responsibilities connect within the overall operating system.

This approach also provided a foundation for improving cross-functional coordination, reducing overlaps in responsibilities, and strengthening the effectiveness of issue resolution at project sites.

Drawing Practical Lessons from General Contracting Projects

Building on the first day’s content, the sessions on September 27 focused on lessons learned from the implementation of general contracting projects.

Real project situations were reviewed through a structured approach: identifying issues, analyzing root causes, discussing solutions, and aligning on appropriate responses. This enabled participants to identify areas for further improvement in project management while drawing practical lessons that can be applied to ongoing and future projects.

By integrating real project experience into the training, the program went beyond theoretical knowledge and addressed the practical requirements of project operations, including workforce coordination, work control, process compliance, and the ability to respond effectively to issues arising during project execution.

Turning Training into Operational Improvement

One of the key objectives of the CDC Leadership Program is to ensure that learning is translated into practical action. The key principles and approaches discussed and aligned during the program will continue to be applied in day-to-day operations, with their implementation monitored and evaluated across projects.

Through this process, CDC aims to drive tangible improvements in coordination, control, and project execution, enabling each position to better understand its role, take greater ownership of responsibilities, and work more effectively within the broader management system.

Following two days of intensive learning and exchange, the CDC Leadership Program 2026 created a valuable platform for connection, knowledge sharing, and in-depth discussion among CDC’s leaders, managers, and key project personnel. More importantly, the program represents another step forward in CDC Construction’s efforts to strengthen management standards and develop a leadership team capable of meeting the company’s evolving operational requirements.

CDC Construction considers people development and training to be one of the key foundations for strengthening its capabilities as a General Contractor. By standardizing competencies, developing its management team, and building a strong succession pipeline, CDC is progressively enhancing a professional, consistent, and effective management system, creating a solid foundation for the organization and operation of projects in the next stage of development.
